"If You Laugh, You Are A Terrible Missionary" Søster Schneck Week 2

Hallo!

So much as happened this week, I don't even know where to start, but I made it to the MTC!! WOOHOO

First off, MY DISTRICT!!! wow I am so blessed. We have WAY too much fun. My companions are truly amazing, it's like a sleepover every night. And the elders are HILARIOUS,  never a dull moment with them. I don't think I have ever laughed harder in my life. I love laughing, what can I say? Unfortunately, our teacher brother Høgset believes that if we laugh we are terrible missionaries. I am not going to lie, I felt VERY called out when he said that.

We have a love, hate relationship with høgset. He is the stereotypical Norwegian man, which means he is very blunt and lowkey can be mean ( he has definitely almost made me cry, love it) but he is also SO FUNNY, without trying tho. As a district we have a Høgset quote book and here are just a few of my favs:
- "you are all going to fail"
-" hopefully you will go home hating me"
-" If you cheat, you'll get a good score, but hate yourself"
Truly words of encouragement and hope.

The MTC is BYU 2.0,
Let me explain...
- I seriously recognize EVERYONE here. My district keeps count of the number of people I say hi to everyday lol I LOVE MY BYU FRIENDS!!
- The cafeteria is the CANC, giving me flashbacks to freshman year
- the cafeteria also has CHOICES!! woohoo! Choices was my favorite restaurant at the wilk and I got it everyday for lunch. I feel so blessed hahaha
- I feel like I'm in religion classes all day, but I love it.

The Norwegian is coming, but still so hard. Brother høgset is really working us but expects us to know SO much. He gives us tests everyday and the last test your girl got 0.2/10 i dont even know how that is possible but NOT COOL.
He also love humiliating us in class and making us feel like we are the dumbest people on the planet, got to love it.
I am getting super buff tho, because he makes us do push-ups every time we do  something wrong or don't have something memorized

I am truly grateful for his teaching strategy, even tho I want to cry and go home on the daily HAHAH because I know I'll be better because of it. what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, I guess.

Here are a few more highlights of the week:
- I beat the elders in a game of HORSE, I have never felt cooler in my life (shout out to mom for teaching me BB skills)
- our phones have POINT 5!! if you know me I am a .5 girl through and through, so that made my week
- we joined the choir as a district ( just for you mom)
- my dad gave me an airtag before I left so they could always see where I am and he pings it all the time and it makes me so happy! Love you dad!
- we listen to the Prince of Egypt soundtrack while we work out!! So good

This week I have been studying the character of our Savior, Jesus Christ. And WOW, Let me tell you, our Savior is AMAZING!! He loves each and every one us more than we can even comprehend!! He turned outward, when we would turn in. He sat with the sinners and healed those who were outcasts, He descended below ALL things for US! We can all follow His perfect example and turn outwards in love, compassion and service. When we truly understand the magnitude of His sacrifice, we are able to love deeper, be more compassionate to our selves and those around us, and overall be more like our Savior. I invite you all to look for ways you can turn outward, like our Savior did, so we can more fully take His name upon ourselves!

Norwegian word:
 klient- awkward

Norwegian phrase:
Hyggleig å treffe deg! - pleased to meet you!

I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH
