Super Slay Adventures Of Søster Schneck: Week 1

HELLO!!

it's my first p-day WOOHOOOO!
The last three days have been AMAZING but so hard! Let me tell you, learning  Norwegian over zoom is a STRUGGLE. But I couldn't love being a missionary more!

Over the past 2.5 days I have already learned so much and I feel like my brain is going to explode lol. BUT I LOVE IT!!  I have a powerhouse of a District and they have taught me so much already! I can't wait to meet them in a week! There are 5 Eldstes and 3 Søsters.

I am in a trio with Søster Gundersen and Søster Barker and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH, we became instant besties. such a huge blessing to be paired with such sweet souls.

Fun Fact, Our Norwegian teacher is from Norway and has a super sick accent, but that also means I have no idea what he is saying in English or Norwegian, super slay.
We also sing a hymn in Norwegian everyday to start our zoom class and we sound AWFUL.  I thought I had a bad voice when I sang in English, but singing in Norwegian is a whole new level.
Yesterday we had a chance to teach a "lesson" to a fake investigator. As a companionship we studied, prayed and planned so we could have an effective lesson, and it did not go as planned HAHA.  All I'm going to say is that it was a HOT MESS. This lady was not breaking character and had 0 interest in talking to us. and to make it worse it was all over zoom so we were all talking over each other to compensate for the awkward silences. SO BAD. we tried our best tho and that's all that matters, right?! Then right after that lesson we had our Norwegian Language class and for whatever reason it was SO HARD! no one knew what was going on and then our teacher told us we have to have a handful of scriptures and statements memorized in norwegian by next week. WHAT?!

By the end of the day I was feeling so discouraged and inadequate. I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. But then my sweet companion, Søster Gundersen, sent me a message to read D&C 43:15-16. It was exactly what I needed to hear!
"Again I say, hearken ye elders (and sisters!) of my church, whom I have appointed: Ye are not sent forth to be taught, but to teach the children of men the things which I have put into your hands by the power of my Spirit. And ye are to be taught from on high. Sanctify yourselves and ye shall be endowed with power, that ye may give even as I have spoken."
HOW AMAZING IS THAT?!
There are times in all of our lives when we feel discouraged, overwhelmed and inadequate. but putting forth effort is enough for our Heavenly Father! We can all be "endowed with His Power" if we have sincere faith in Him.  I know that my mission is going to be a challenge, but I know that if I am putting in an honest effort that Christ will meet my needs and give me strength!!

norwegian word of the week:
 velsignelse: blessing

norwegian phrase of the week:
Gud hører alltid på våre bønner: God always listens to our prayers!

I love this gospel and I LOVE ALL OF YOU!!
