"Fred Ut" Søster Schneck Week 3
hei, hei!!
This week went by SO fast. Time at the MTC is so bizarre, the days feel FOREVER long, but the weeks go by so fast!
I'm sure you are ALL wondering how our favorite teacher, brother Høgset, is doing. Let me tell you, he still is mean and scary, but also our best friend; we have a very interesting relationship. Here are some Brother Høgset highlights from the week:
- he informed us that he in fact DOES NOT believe that the Moon Landing actually happened
- he doesn't have a driver's license, so he rides an electric scooter to work every day wearing his aviators
- he makes us do 50 pushups everyday because we aren't understanding norwegian (i will challenge you all to a pushup contest when I get back)
- he ate dinner with us because he was SO excited about the cafeterias chicken and waffles
- he LOVES "sons of provo" and was singing with Stoltz
it's in these moments when I laugh and wonder why I let this man cause me so much stress and pain HAHA
I hit a new record this week and got 0/10 on my Norwegian test. This language is so confusing, but then brother Høgset reminds us that it is the "easiest" language to learn, so that obviously makes me feel so much better. He truly is so inspiring.
It's coming tho, and I am doing better than I did last week and I am trying my best, and that's all I can do at this point! We have had 2 "english fasts" this week, which means that we are not allowed to speak ANY english, and if we do? you guessed it, more pushups. It is definitely difficult but has helped with my Norwegian so much!
Here are some highlights of the week:
- me and my companions got called as our Zones Sister Training Leaders! This means that we are responsible for all the Sisters in our Zone. We are so excited but also feel like we just got here and don't know what we are doing haha, but we are ready for the challenge!
-I got the whole district saying "fred ut" which means "peace out" This was one of the first things I asked my dad to teach me in Norwegian, and now we've got the whole district saying it
- we have gone to the temple twice as a district and it is AMAZING!! I love the temple!
- Me and Elder Stoltz really miss our country music so we have been jamming out together during meals
- everyday we "rank" the elders' ties. so far elder gunter is in first for his Star Wars tie
- My district is still amazing, they are such a blessing in my life and are becoming my best friends
As hard as it is, I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT!!
After every devotional we have what is called a "district review" This is when we come together as a district and discuss our thoughts and feelings regarding the devo and anything else. On saturday night we were all discussing and elder stoltz asked "why did you really decide to come on a mission?" I had to sit back and think of this for a second. Why did I want to come on a mission? Why would I want to leave everything I love behind? and the plain and simple answer is because I love my Savior Jesus Christ!! There is no other way to put it. I have had plenty of doubts and questions, but I have never once doubted the infinite love that our Savior has for each and every one of us. " The breadth, and length, and depth, and height" of our Savior's love surpasses our understanding (ephesians 3:18). I can not express my gratitude enough for His Atoning Sacrifice, that covers all of our pains, downfalls and shortcomings. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I KNOW for a fact that He loves all of you.
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!
