"Ostens Land" Søster Schneck Week 5
HEY!!
I hope everyone is having a GREAT week!! You are all in my thoughts and prayers!!
Another week has come and gone here at the MTC, but we only have ONE more!! for those of you wondering what the title of this email is, it means "the land of the cheese" because your favorite Søster got reassigned to.....
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN!!
WOOHOOOO!!
definitely a bittersweet moment, because I would obviously LOVE to go straight to Norway, but I have felt such an overwhelming feeling of peace and love with my new assignment. Both Norway and Wisconsin hold such a special place in my heart and mean so much to me and my family. For those of you who didn't know, my dad served his mission in Norway, and he was born in Milwaukee! My Nana and Grandpa Schneck also joined the church when they lived in Wisconsin!! God is SO good, and He knows ALL of us individually, with a perfect love. I know this is EXACTLY where I need to be before I get to serve in Norway! I cannot wait!!
Here are a few highlights from the week!!
- I gave a talk in Sacrament Meeting on Sunday about strengthening my Testimony of the Book of Mormon!
- we started "SYL" which means "speak your language" I pretty much signed my life away and can't speak English until I leave the MTC next week, WISH ME LUCK
- Our district talks about Star Wars A LOT and in every way try to relate it to the Gospel HAHA
- brother høgset informed us that the MTC is haunted
- we play ping pong with the elders in between class and I am SO BAD
- we got our reassignments! half of our district is going to Norway, and the rest are scattered throughout Colorado, Wisconsin and Oregon!
- Elder Bednar gave us all heart hands and it was the CUTEST thing ever!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT!!
yesterday we had the opportunity to hear a devotional from ELDER BEDNAR!! so cool! the spirit was so strong in that room the whole time. He focused on the power, hope and love that come from repentance through the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. Sometimes repentance can seem so intimating, scary and negative, but it is the opposite! Repentance is relying on Christ and trusting in Him who gave us something we could not give ourselves. We need to rely on the Savior in EVERY ASPECT of our lives. He is ALWAYS there for us with His arms outstretched, just waiting for us to hold on. During my time as a missionary, I have had to learn to rely on my Savior more than ever before. life is so hard! we all go through so many challenging things but our burdens can be made light through the strength of our Savior!
jeg elsker deg!!
