Fall, Frogs And Miracles! Søster Schneck Week 8!
hei hei!!
Wow, this week was full of so many ups and downs, but overall SO good!
Marshfield is starting to grow on me. It is quite literally in the middle of nowhere, but the people are so kind and it is beautiful! Most people here are very religious, and have a firm belief. There is a different chruch on every street! Right now we are teaching a Lutheran, a Jehovah's Witness, and so many good people who love God.
We are really trying to build a firm foundation here in Marshfield, so we are getting really close with the ward and I am convinced it is the BEST ward ever. We have a meal almost everyday and the members have really taken us under their wings. It's even more amazing because our ward boundaries expand 2 hours in all directions, so many of these people drive 4 hours round trip to get to chruch and worship, HOW AMAZING IS THAT?! They will always hold a special place in my heart!
ALSO SOME BIG NEWS!! MY VISA CAME! WOOHOOO!! I'm still not sure how much longer I'll be in Marshfield but it's already been such a blessing and it will be sad to say goodbye! but I can't wait to get to Norway!!
here are some highlights from the week!
- Fall is here in Marshfield and it is SO pretty! Fall is my favorite!
- there are Frogs EVERYWHERE
- we gave our friend Jenni a Bible and visited with her for a while!
- our ward mission leader is a real one, he is a convert to the church and has the FUNNIEST stories. He keeps us very entertained
- I got permission to call my dad during my language study time, and we just talk in Norwegian together and I can already see my Norwegian improving!
- we talked to this guy on the phone about His beliefs as a Jehovah's Witness and were able to share the Book of Mormon with him!
- the people here have NO filter, never a dull moment
- Every interaction thet I have here feels like a fever dream. Everyone is just a little odd and that keeps it VERY entertaining.
- we met one of our neighbors, who has seen missionaries before and was really interested in learning more, the only problem was that he ONLY speaks Spanish. So we used Google translate to communicate and he came to chruch!
- our friend Allen, who is Lutheran, came to chruch and yesterday was fast and Testimony Meeting and he got up and SANG a Lutheran worship song for the whole congregation HAHAHA. Such a sweet soul
- our friend Christel is getting baptized in October!!
Overall such a good week! I've learned that if you look for the miracles you will find them!
SPIRTIAL THOUGHT!
yesterday we were able to go help our friend Christel and her mom Ella, who is 78, move and clean their apartment. It was a hotmess, but we were able to help and just talk to them! They both have had very difficult lives but still have such a strong belief in God. After we were done helping them out, I asked if we could leave them with a prayer. Ella preceeded to get up out of her wheelchair and grab my hand. We stood in a circle holding handss and I offered a prayer. It was definitely a little odd to me at first, but the spirit was so strong. Afterwards Ella looked at me and told me that I brought such a beautiful spirit into her life.
This experience was so influential to me. I could feel God's love for both of these women so strong. It doesn't matter who you are, what your background is, or what you have done in your life, OUR HEAVENLY FATHER WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU! I am so gratful for this knowledge and love sharing it with others!
I hope you all know that our Heavenly Father truly loves you!
god is so good! Love you all!
