Søster Schneck Week 9!
hello!!
Another week has come and gone here in Marshfield, but we are seeing SO many miracles! This week was packed with lessons, calls and service!
Highlights:
- i hit 2 months as a missionary!!
- someone asked if we were nuns. Super slay
- went on exchanges with our Sister Training Leaders in Wasau and it was AMAZING! we taught these two guys about the Book of Mormon and just had a normal and natural conversation about the gospel IT WAS SO COOL!
- we gave out 99 copies of the Book of Mormon in 5 days for Presdient Nelsons Birthday!
- we got offered beer by some construction dudes, obviously we are too cool for that
- we had to clarify to someone that in fact memebers DO NOT all live together in the chruch building and that we are all pretty normal people
- our freind Mark asked us if we enjoy doing anything that doesnt relate to God. WHY WOULD WE WANT TO DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT?!
- had the most bizarre lesson with Harold, sometimes i wonder how we get into these situations
- while im Wasau we went with the Hmong speaking elders to a Hmong market where we made Pho with the sweetest lady ever and she gave me a Hmong name!! My name is "Kaj Siab Vaj" which means content, heart refreshed and full of light. SO COOL. learned aome more Hmong, so Im practically trilingual now
- we have a piano in our apartment so i LOVE playing when i get a second ( thanks mom and dad for forcing me to take lessons)
- we had Zone Conference and President Bennett from the 70 came and spoke to us! It was such a great experience and i learned so many things! Such a great first Zone Conference!
- evryone is convinced that I am not a "greenie" which means a brand new missionary. Brother Fillimua told me" youre too normal to be brand new" not exactly sure what thst means but we'll take it HAHA
- FALL HERE IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!
- I got a call from my mission President letting me know my Visa came and Ill be leaving the first week of October!!
- while in Wasau we visited a member and she noticed my Norwegian name tag and asked if I could teach a lesson and share my testimony IN NORWEGIAN hahah. Of course I said YES! and it was the best lesson I have ever given in Norwegian! They had no idea what was going on but the spirit was so strong. THE GIFT OF TONGUES IS SO REAL!!
Spiritual Thought!!
Sometimes in life, especially realted to the gospel, we feel inadequate when we dont "know" everything. This is something that I have struggled with alot, trying to find the balance between faith and knowledge. While we were teaching our friend Solomon, who is a strong Christian, he said he was having a hard time KNOWING what was true. I could totally relate to him, so I shared with him this scripture that had brought me so much comfort.
1 Nephi 11: 17 "I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things"
We dont need to know everything and we arent expected to! We just need to trust and have faith in our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. THEY LOVE YOU!! We can rely on Them in EVERY ASPECT of our lives and They will bring us peace, comfort and love.
I LOVE THIS GOSPEL AND I LOVE YOU!!
