The "OZ" Of Wisco: Søster Schneck Week 11
hello everyone!!
Another week has come and gone here in Marshfield and it was SO GOOD!! So many miracles and I can see the hand of the Lord in so many aspects of my life. Without further adieu, here are your favorite....
WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS:
• we have been told that Marshfield is the OZ of wisconsin and i can totally see why. People here are SO nice and it feels like we are in a little bubble of farm land and forests.
• bishop Kim took our district out to dinner and we bonded over the fact that we both lived in Helaman Halls #djduo, i had to inform him that Chipman hall was now a womens dorm and he was very disappointed
• we have some forest friends living in our walls and they LOVE keeping us up at night
• some guy we were teaching asked us if my companion and I were over 21 to see if he could ask us some "mature" questions, he also asked us "what is your favorite sin" we informed him we only answer questions about Jesus Christ
• FALL HERE IS SO BEAUTIFUL, I've never seen more vibrant colors!
• we had 5 friends at chruch yesterday WOOHOO! its so amazing to see their testimonies of Jesus Christ grow!!
• Our friend Jaric ONLY speaks spanish so we are using google translate to communicate but no matter what language you speak the spirit communicates with EVERYONE and jaric is proof of that!!
• katlund is getting baptized on October 14th!! So excited for her!
• there have been SO many thunder storms this week!
• while we were on the phone with one of our friends we hear this HUGE crash, we asked if everything was okay and he told us he ALMOST GOT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING!! if thats not a sign from God, I dont know what is️
• while we were at dinner with an older couple in our ward, I met a man whose parents are both from NORWAY!! he told me all about norway and asked what a mission is and why I'll be living there for 18 months! It was such a cool experince and he even taught me a new phrase in norwegian "skål fisken" which means "cheers to the fish" HAHA
• our members are slowly learning to love missionary work! They are such a blessing to us!!
• we participated in a community walk to fight hunger and it DOWN POURED and your girl forgot a rain coat so we were soaked
Overall such a blessed week! Missionary work is HARD but so rewarding!!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
This week I was studying 3 Nephi 11, this is when Jesus Christ visits the people in America!! Such an AMAZING chapter!! What really stood out to me while I was reading was the fact that before Jesus appeared, God was trying to speak to the people and no one was listening. Finally on the third time, the people understood and Jesus Christ descended.
How many times in our lives do we TRULY strive to hear Him in all that we do?? I know for me this is definitely something I need to work on! Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father are constantly trying to speak to us through the Holy Ghost and sometimes we just dont listen. This week I am really going to strive to LISTEN!! acknoweldge the spirit in your life and how it speaks to you! Especailly with general confernce coming up this week, i invite you all to try and listen to spirit as you watch General Confernce and TRULY acknowledge how the spirit is speaking to YOU!!
LOVE YOU ALL!! god is good!
