Embracing Rejection: Søster Schneck Week 16

Hello!! 


This week was SO good!! And I just feel so blessed that I get to serve in such an amazing place with such amazing people EVERYDAY!! 


weekly highlights
☆ we had Zone Conference this past week in Stavanger!! On Tuesday we had a Zone Pday where we went on such a pretty hike caled Dalsnuten! The fall colors are AMAZING!! there are about 20 missionaries in our Zone so it has been fun getting to know eveyone! 
☆ after the hike we went to a soccer field and played "Gator Ball" it's a mix of soccer and football and let me tell you when you get 20 missionaries together it gets pretty competitive. I completely got BODY SLAMMED by our Zone Leader, but our team still took the dub
☆ we had Zone Conference the next day and it was SO GOOD!! It was all focused on the Savior and how we can better focus on Him in our work here in Norway! 
☆ President Montague presented on "Embracing Rejection" and how as missionaries we can't fear rejection, because if we do, nothing is going to happen. This week sister Kristensen and I have really taken that to heart and looked for opportunities to be rejected HAHA. We have tried to talk to EVERYONE and try to share messages about Jesus Christ. All I'm going to say is we got rejected ALOT but we also had so many good opportunities to testify of our Savior!! 
☆ it's officially Christmas here in Kristansand! Since Halloween and Thanksgiving aren't really a thing here, all the stores, restaurants and cafes are all decorated for Chrsitmas and are playing Christmas music!! It makes me SO happy! 
☆like I said earlier, most people don't celebrate Halloween around here, but when you've got a vampire in your Branch you already KNOW we celebrated Halloween to the fullest. We had a Branch Halloween Party and we went full out, converting the whole church building into a Halloween wonderland lol. We weren't expecting a ton of people to come but it was a huge success and so fun!! 
☆ the language is coming and I felt pretty good this week until we show up to a members house for a meal. This family is from Chile but moved to Norway about 20 years ago. So they only speak Spanish and Norwegian. Shouldn't be a problem because supposedly I speak Norwegian, right? WRONG. They start speaking Norwegian with the thickest Chilean accent and me and Elder Kasteller are just like UHHHH. I've never been more confused in my life, BUT after a quick prayer in my heart I could start to understand and contribute to the convo! God is good! 
☆ got to help an old lady on to the bus, ️mission complete️
☆ it's starting to feel like winter. SNOW, HAIL, RAIN, WIND. Pretty chilly up here, but it's just going to get colder so I cant complain yet haha 
☆ every morning we run to Elder and Sister Schrams apartment and work out in their gym! It's SUCH a blessing! 
☆ tried a true Norwegian meal. A lady in our ward named Solvei explained it as a "pig and potatoes ball" yum... They were about the size of my face and you sprinkle sugar on top. Not a huge fan but love trying new things 
☆ got to have a Frozen moment and go to Arendal to get finger printed by the cops. Not as magical as I thought it would be, but Arendal nonetheless 


The work is progressing here and we are seeing so many miracles!! 


SPIRITUAL THOUGHT!
this week I re-read one of my favorite Conference talks by  Elder Nattress called "Have I Truly Been Forgiven?" It focused on how we can all be forgive because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I make SO many mistakes everyday and its so comforting to know that we have a loving Savior who willingly Atoned so that we can have a second, third, fourth and fifth chance. 


"the same promise of complete and perfect forgiveness is made to everyone—in and through the infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ."

Hei Hei!! I am going to try and make more of an effort to send weekly emails again, but no promises. President called me last week to inform me that I am staying in Trondheim for another transfer!! WOOHOO! It was very unexpected, but I couldn't be happier. I love this city with my whole heart! Here are some highlights from the past 2 weeks - For pday a few weeks ago we went inside Nidarosdomen and it felt like I was in Hogwarts, unreal - Got a text from one of the YSA asking if me and Sister Twede could make him food for the ward potluck HAHA he paid for it all, and we ended up making my moms famous chili. He wanted to bring a dish to contribute, but hates cooking HAHA. W Joakim  - Got to go on splits with my bestie SISTER BARKER!!  - It feels like fall here in Trondheim! A Tribute To Trondheim; Søster Schneck Wk 65

Hello friends!!  This email is going to be dedicated to TRONDHEIM!! We got transfer news and I will be leaving good ol' trondheim to open ALTA for my last 2 transfers, which is the northernmost mission area in the world. Not exactly sure how I'm feeling right now, excited, scared, humbled, sad and grateful are just a few of the emotions. Trondheim, Norway has my heart. Being able to serve here for the past 5 months has been nothing short of a miracle in my life. I don't fully have the words to describe the impact this place has had on my mission and my life. The people I have met here and the memories I have made mean the world to me and I'm not sure if I am ready to say goodbye. Change has always been something I have had a really hard time with, yet I know it is inevitable, and necessary for growth. ALTA!! Søster Schneck Wk 66

Hey!! This week has been an adventure and full of so many tender mercies and my heart is so full! And... we made it to ALTA!!  Here are some highlights!  ☆ left a piece of my heart in Trondheim, and it definitely wasnt an easy goodbye, but I feel at peace with where I'm at right now and I know this is exactly where I need to be!  ☆ thursday I traveled all day and made it to Tromsø to meet my new companion, Sister Matthews!  ☆ we got stranded in tromsø for 2 days because we currently don't have a place to stay in Alta. we grinded it out there and worked our hardest to make it productive when we weren't in our area HAHA  ☆ Saturday we got a call from president telling us we are finally flying to Alta!! Yay! We took the tiniest 25 person plane and finally landed in our new home!  ☆ we have been living in a hotel for the past few days as we've waited for an apartment, but will be moving in tomorrow (best hotel breakfast EVER)  ☆ ive only been her...
