Fred Ut Marshfield! Søster Schneck Week 12
hey!!
These are my LAST few days in good ole Marshfield, Wisco! I fly out to Norway on thursday!! WOOHOO!!!
as my time in marshfield comes to an end, I can truly say that I am SO grateful for my time here! My reassignment has been the biggest blessing, even if I didnt always see it as such. I have been able to learn how to be a missionary in an environment that felt comfortable, and had the opportunity to enteract and teach amazing people in ENGLISH!! I will forever be grateful for all the memories made, lessons learned and people I met here and it will definitely be a hard goodbye. but NORWAY HERE I COME!
weekly highlights
☆ it has been storming NON STOP for the past week. I have never heard louder thunder or seen brighter lightning EVER
☆ bible study with our friend Patti and she is coming to chruch on sunday!!
☆brother beil uses "shrek" to remember how to say my last name
☆had to say good bye to all my friends here!! SO SAD
☆sister englebrettsen helped me with my family history!!
☆katlund gets baptized next week!! Its soo amazing to see her progress. We only met her about 3 weeks ago and she had no knowledge of God or Jesus Christ and now she is preparing to enter into the waters of Baptism!! So excited for her, but sad I'll miss her big day!
☆we read the Living Christ every morning and I do it in Norwgian, some of the words are so hard but practice makes perfect!
☆sister dozier is the CRAZIEST driver ever. Its crazy how many people she can almost hit when you live out in the boonies
☆ bible study with solomon!! Having all these bible studies has really allowed me to dive deeper into the Bible like I never have before and its SO COOL!
☆sister Dozier asks the most BIZARRE questions to people we meet and members, i guess it keeps things entertaining HAHA
☆ we went to the Beils one last time before I leave, and they gave me the coolest rock to remember them
☆we had district council with President Hansen and I can genuinely say he is one of the kindest people I have ever met. So grateful to have had him and his sweet wife as my Mission Presidents for a short time
☆ I volunteered at the nursing home we go to everyweek for the last time. SO SAD!! sweetest people ever!!
☆ WE HAD THE MOST POWERFUL LESSON WITH SOLOMON!! He is literally the modern day Alma the Younger. His love and commitment to God is honestly inspiring, especially after all he has gone through in life. He loves God and has such deep questions about our church and beliefs. As many of you know, im not a huge fan of deep conversations but something about the mission has changed me HAHA. But the spirit was so strong and I was answering questions I didnt even know I had the answer to. THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST IS SO REAL!! At the end of the discussion we asked him to be baptized, and this was the first time I truly had the strongest desire for someone to be baptized because I could truly see how it would bless his life. BEING A MISSIONARY IS THE COOLEST THING EVER!
☆ i got to play the piano in the chapel for a while and it was so fun!
☆ GENERAL CONFERNCE!! literally SO good!! We watched 2 sessions with our stake president and his family and it was so fun! The messages we heard were SO POWERFUL!!
Overall it was such a blessed week and we continue to see miracles!! FRED UT MARSHFIELD!! you will be missed
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT!!
I LOVE listening to Conference talks while I get ready in the morning, and this week one of my faviorte talks was by Elder Ballard and he focused on the question, "lovest me more than these?" this really made me reflect on my own life and what I deem as most important. After His resurrection, Jesus visited Peter and the other disciples as they fished. And Jesus asked them "Lovest me more than these?" Imagine if the Savior asked YOU that question. How would you answer?? Are we all truly putting God and Jesus Christ FIRST in our lives? I know I definitely have room to improve!! Here is a favorite quote from his talk
"We must always remember that our true happiness depends upon our relationship with God, with Jesus Christ, and with each other."
I love this Gospel of hope, love and peace!!
I love you and SO DOES GOD!!
