Anna And Elsa IRL: Søster Schneck Weeks 18-19
Yoo, whats up gang?!
These past few weeks have been INSANE, but seriously so good and filled with so many tender mercies and miracles. I officially finished my first transfer in Norway! WOOHOO! Time is flying. Me and sister Kristensen are staying in Kristiansand! YAY! But, we got a call from President informing us that we would also be taking over the Arendal area. CRAZY. Only 3 sisters have come into Norway in the past 5 months, and a few just went home, so we are running low on missionaries up here. SO, now Sister Kristensen and I are incharge of TWO areas. Definitely stressful, but we are ready for the challenge! Anna and Elsa, here we come.
Also buckle up for a longer email, cause Ive got to update you from the past 2 weeks!!
highlights!
☆ Got a call from a member in the branch presidency on friday asking if I could give a talk on Sunday. STRESS. but we did it and managed to do the whole thing in Norwegian without reading from my notes, GIFT OF TONGUES IS REAL
☆ had an AMAZING lesson with our friend Sissel! Sissel has been investigating the church for 22 years and is almost ready to get baptized!! She is seriously one of the kindest most genuine people I have ever met, and she is like our Norwegian mother haha.
☆ we are teaching 10 people right now in Kristansand and even more in Arendal. When I got my call to Norway, so many people told me that there would be no work to do here and that people would never listen, BUT BOY WERE THEY WRONG. the Lord is preparing the Norwegian people!
☆ I got to teach Elder and Sister Schram how to play Uno, i thought that everyone knew how to play Uno but i guess not HAHAH
☆ My whole district from the MTC finally made it to Norway! YAY!
☆ after helping Sissel with some brutal yard work, she taught us how to make Norwegian Cinnamon Rolls! We baked and listened to Christmas music CORE MEMORY
☆ after making Cinnamon rolls, Sissel asked if we could help her make dinner for her family. We had time so we made TACOS lol. She had to go to the store so me and sister Krisensen were just in her house by ourselves, making food SO FUNNY. But she came back from the store and bought us christmas advent calendars SO CUTE. she is the SWEETEST person ever. She also calls us her "girls"
☆ we started teaching this dude named Yazan and he is ELECT. we found him randomly from our other friend. He is from Jordan and recenlty converted from being Muslim to Christian. He is so interested in our chruch and asks so many questions! SO COOL! We gave him a book of mormon in norwegian and he was so exctied and started reading, but then asked if we had one in english because he can understand that better. Then while meetjng with him again, we found out his native language is Arabic, so our mission was to find an Arabic BOM. We looked EVERYWHERE and finally found one!! He was able to read 3 Nephi 11 with us in Arabic and it might have been the coolest experince EVER! anyways, Yazan is pretry cool and he also makes us Jordanian food
☆ They have the cutest christmas Market set up in sentrum and it makes me ao grateful that Norwegians LOVE christmas
☆ we have been recruited as content creators for the missions facebook page, we have no idea what we are doing
☆ there is a love triangle going on between our friends and it makes things very complicated and confusing lol
☆for those of you who saw the video of when I got my wisdom teeth out last year, I said I was going to go on my mission to norway and drink beer. Not sure what was going through my head when I said that, but... dreams come true and your girl tried ️ alchol free️ beer IN NORWAY. DISGUSTING but i pretty much prophesied that ot was going to happen and here we are
☆ we were in Sentrum trying to film a video with the Elders and some dude came up to US and started asking about our chruch. Not going to lie, the dude was a little odd, but we were able to share the Gospel with him! He told us he was like a "hybrid car" half of him was devoted to Jesus, the other to the devil. Very interesting. Never a dull moment up here
☆ went on a hike with our friend Ine and we passed a farm with a cute red barn and she goes " SIRI! look its a red barn!! Have you ever seen one before?? Do they have farms in america?" HAHA yes they do
☆ played the guitar with a dude from Belgium SO FUN
these past few weeks have been so good but SO hard. Missionary work is not easy and its so hard being away from your family and friends, but God truly is in the details and makes it all worth it! Shout out to all the Missionaries out there, you guys are KILLING it!
Spiritual thought!
I try and study a differnt story of Jesus everyday and one that really stuck me this last week was when Jesus healed the Leper. We hear about this miracle all the time and it only takes up 3 verses in the Bible, BUT IT IS SO POWERFUL.
Picture this man with Leprosy. He was cast out from society. No body talked to him or touched him. Others saw him as unclean, and a sinner.
He probably lived a lonely life, longing for someone to love him and see past his disease, but no one would.
No one but Jesus.
When the leaper came to Jesus he worshipped Him and praised the Lord, asking if He could heal him.
We know that Jesus had the power to heal this man from a distance but Jesus KNEW this man. He knew exactly what He needed, more than being healed physically.
"And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed."
Jesus touched thr Leper! Jesus didnt care what society thought of this man, He saw him for who he truly was. A son of God. He looked past his physical ailment and touched Him.
This is such a testament to me thst Jesus Christ knows us personally and perfectly! He loves each of us more than we will ever know!
I love you all and miss you!! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!!
