Meaningful Moments♡ Søster Schneck Wk ???
WHATS UP?!?!
Its been a while!! Missionary life has been CRAZY and i have had no time/desire to write an email, but my mom said I have to this week. so shout out to Mama Schneck -->>> I LOVE YOU
Here are some highlights from the past MONTH!
☆ Our new Mission President and his family came to Trondheim! It was so fun getting to know them! They are such baller missionaries and sister Updike taught a lesson with us IN NORWEGIAN. shes soo cool!
☆ we accidently got stranded at one of our friends house for a few hours and she offered us alcohol nice
☆ Ive eaten both whale and reindeer yumm
☆ sometimes I feel like Im living in a fairy tail because every time we go on a hike, there are just wild berries growing everywhere and we just pick them along the way. So fun!
☆ we did service at this homestead in the middle of the country side and it was a glimpse into my dream life. They were just walking around the farm barefoot, the little girls were running around naked and picking stinging nettle with their barehands. after they made us homemade rasberry pie
☆ Søster Barker is left me to move to Oslo
☆ for a whole week i was hoping around olso/ sandvika with a ton of different companions. I was pretty much the subsitute companion
☆ we had MLC and its so fun to see how the Updikes are running this mission. They are a POWERHOUSE family!
☆ we are teaching a cutie family and their kids have a deal that everytime we come, we can do our activity/lesson if they can do one afterwards. So fridays activity consists of some Norwegian Christian hip hop
☆ MIRACLE!! okay, this is going to take a second but its worth it! Coolest miracle ever. A few weeks ago we made a post on facebook offering service to the community, qnd we've had aome great opportunites to serve from it. Ome lady reached out asking for some help and gave us a call. We talked for a few minutes and decided on a time and day, and then she asked my name. I told her "Siri Schneck" and she then said "this is kind of random, but if its true, Im going to cry. Is your dad Matt Schneck?" I was shocked and the tears started coming for both of us. We ended up talking for about 30 more minutes and she explained to me that she actually is a member and my dad played a big role on her conversion when he was on his mission here in Trondheim. It was such a tender mercy and such a testament to me that God knows exactly where and when we need to be on a place.
☆ i have taken 6 flights in the past 4 weeks and will take 2 more next week racking up the sky miles
☆ tried to be super cool and do a backflip for the first time in a year for the elders but instead i face planted #humbling
☆ we got asked what our theme song in life is and if anyone was wondering, yes, it is still "Dust in the Wind" by kansas
☆ the mission presidents daughter, maddie, drew a portrait of me HAHA shes my bestie, i love her
I just love being a missionary in Trondheim! GOD IS GOOD!!
Something that Ive been thinking alot about lately is hope and how we can build hope through moments. I truly believe that a single moment can change somebodys life. If we all look back on our lives, we can see that it is all made up of moments, and its the significance of those experiences that make them a moment in our lives. I can think of countless examples of individual people who have made a difference in my life and many of them dont even know. I recently revieved a notebook from a friend and I have decided to fill it with " meaningful moments" that have changed my life. Its been so cool to look back on my life and on the people and moments who have shaped me and my life into what it is today. A theme that Ive noticed as Ive reflected on these moments, is that is is always one person who instilled a sense of hope by creating a moment. Our lives are full of moments and we can help design moments of hope in other peoples lives if we really try. I would invite you all to take some time to reflect on some meaningful moments in your own life and think how you can make a moment meaningful for someone else. The world needs more kindness and love and it all starts with you
I LOVE YOU AND SO DOES GOD!
