Joy In The Journey!! Søster Schneck Wk 68

What's up?! Can't believe it's already been 2 weeks since I moved to Alta! These past few weeks have been such a great time for growth and reflection for me and I have been able to see God and His children in a new light. My motto this transfer is “Joy in the Journey” and I can truly say I've never felt more joy, smiled more or laughed harder than I have in the past few weeks. It's definitely been hard filling our empty days, with the days getting shorter and colder, but somehow the joy and light that I do experience, outweighs the difficult moments.  Here are some moments that have brought me JOY these past few weeks!  ☆ We moved into our new home! We are staying in an AirBnB and it is so cozy!!  ☆ We don't have a car quite yet, so we get to walk to the city sentrum everyday! It's about a 30 minute walk, and there isn't a soul in sight, which is unfortunate… BUT, me and søster matthews have had some of the best conversations ever!! Going on long walks i...

Hey!! This week has been an adventure and full of so many tender mercies and my heart is so full! And... we made it to ALTA!!  Here are some highlights!  ☆ left a piece of my heart in Trondheim, and it definitely wasnt an easy goodbye, but I feel at peace with where I'm at right now and I know this is exactly where I need to be!  ☆ thursday I traveled all day and made it to Tromsø to meet my new companion, Sister Matthews!  ☆ we got stranded in tromsø for 2 days because we currently don't have a place to stay in Alta. we grinded it out there and worked our hardest to make it productive when we weren't in our area HAHA  ☆ Saturday we got a call from president telling us we are finally flying to Alta!! Yay! We took the tiniest 25 person plane and finally landed in our new home!  ☆ we have been living in a hotel for the past few days as we've waited for an apartment, but will be moving in tomorrow (best hotel breakfast EVER)  ☆ ive only been her...

A Tribute To Trondheim; Søster Schneck Wk 65

Hello friends!!  This email is going to be dedicated to TRONDHEIM!! We got transfer news and I will be leaving good ol' trondheim to open ALTA for my last 2 transfers, which is the northernmost mission area in the world. Not exactly sure how I'm feeling right now, excited, scared, humbled, sad and grateful are just a few of the emotions. Trondheim, Norway has my heart. Being able to serve here for the past 5 months has been nothing short of a miracle in my life. I don't fully have the words to describe the impact this place has had on my mission and my life. The people I have met here and the memories I have made mean the world to me and I'm not sure if I am ready to say goodbye. Change has always been something I have had a really hard time with, yet I know it is inevitable, and necessary for growth. If you would have asked me how I felt 5 months ago as I was saying goodbye to 8 months of memories in Kristiansand, I would have expressed that I was feeling about...

hey gang! I don't have a ton of time today, but here are some highlights from the last week!  - We had ZOCO and it was quite the adventure to plan and get everything coordinated, but let's be real, it's not that deep, so all in all it worked out great!  - ANNA GOT BAPTIZED!! It was the most beautiful, perfect day! She wanted so badly to get baptized outside in the fjord and it's starting to get pretty cold here in Norway, so we were all praying for good weather. As we were pulling up to the beach it was POURING RAIN, like insane amounts of water and it was so cold HAHA but we pushed through and walked down to the beach. Right as we got to the water, the rain stopped and it was perfectly clear as she entered the water. Jolly Ann (who recently got baptized 3 weeks ago) and Joakim ( a ysa who got baptized in March) were the witnesses. SO COOL!! The water was FREEZING, but she survived, and as we were walking back to the car the most beautiful ra...

Wow, the past few weeks have been FULL of memories, miracles and moments! I wish I had time to explain every detail of every day because there are just so many things that mean so much to me and words can't even explain all the feelings I have about this beautiful country and the amazing people I have had the privilege of meeting here. But here is a quick little recap of the past few weeks!  Highlights -  The crowned prince and princess of Norway were in Trondheim! WHAT!? lol i don't even know their names or what they look like, BUT the guards were guarding them with their lives and as we were walking through sentrum the trumpets were sounding and out walks the prince and princess!! crazy - went on exchanges with the Bodø and Tromsø sisters! They are just the BEST! There are only 6 sisters including us in our Zone, so it's so fun to build strong connections with them!  - Our volleyball activities always turn into christian dance parties ...
