Good Ol' Marshfield; Søster Schneck Week 7

Image
Hello!!  This week has been absolutely insane, but I made it to Wisonsin!! Woohoo! Saying goodbye to the mtc and my time there was a lot harder than I expected, but I will forever be grateful for the amazing experience I had!  I flew out to Wisconsin at 4am on Thrusday. My AMAZING district woke up at 3:30am to say bye to me! shout out to the BEST DISTRICT EVER!! Love you so much!!  Our little travel group of missionaries went from local celebrities in SLC to quite the opposite in the span of a few hours. Definitely an interesting experience to be judged by people who don't even know who you are, but we just keep pushing through! Here is my favorite quote from the week.  "We can wish you the best of luck in life, but not on your mission, we wish you failure"   ...thanks randy my new companion, sister doizer and I are reopening an area here in Wisconsin called Marshfield! Marshfield is so pretty!! We are kind of in the middle of no where, but are surrounded b...

Last Day In MTC! Søster Schneck Week 6

Image
hei hei!!  today is my LAST day at the MTC!! How insane is that?!  I am so excited and anxious to get out into the field and start, but am so sad to leave the MTC. My time here has allowed me to grow in so many ways, but especially grow closer to my Savior Jesus Christ, and I will forever be grateful for that! It will be so sad to leave my little Norwegian Family for a while, but I can't wait for the day where we all see each other in NORWAY!!  This week has been so good, but honestly such a blur. We have been speaking Norwegian NONSTOP for the past 7 days and it has been so fun but also so exhausting. My Norwegian skills are definitely improving, but I still have a LONG way to go. This week we have been working so hard, but apparently not hard enough because Brother Høgset put us in "TIMEOUT" TWO times this week! I am 19 years old and do not need a 23 year old putting me in time out, it was very humbling to say the least. Here are some last words of wisdom from Brother H...

"Ostens Land" Søster Schneck Week 5

Image
HEY!! I hope everyone is having a GREAT week!! You are all in my thoughts and prayers!! Another week has come and gone here at the MTC, but we only have ONE more!! for those of you wondering what the title of this email is, it means "the land of the cheese" because your favorite Søster got reassigned to..... MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN!!  WOOHOOOO!!  definitely a bittersweet moment, because I would obviously LOVE to go straight to Norway, but I have felt such an overwhelming feeling of peace and love with my new assignment. Both Norway and Wisconsin hold such a special place in my heart and mean so much to me and my family. For those of you who didn't know, my dad served his mission in Norway, and he was born in Milwaukee! My Nana and Grandpa Schneck also joined the church when they lived in Wisconsin!! God is SO good, and He knows ALL of us individually, with a perfect love. I know this is EXACTLY where I need to be before I get to serve in Norway! I cannot wait!! Here are a fe...

The Twilight Zone: Søster Schneck Week 4

Image
Hello everyone!! I have officially been a Missionary for ONE MONTH!! How crazy is that?! I feel like I am living in a "twilight zone" episode because I have been living the EXACT SAME DAY for the past 3 weeks here at the MTC. it's safe to say that my whole district has gone INSANE, but we love it!  This week had so many ups and downs, but was overall pretty good!  Like I have described in my past emails, I have been STRUGGLING with learning Norwegian, but this week I have really turned to my Savior and have felt so much peace. I am still really struggling, but I have come to realize that my effort is enough for the Lord!  Highlights of the weeks: - Brother Høgset stopped giving us tests during tutoring, so I no longer have to get 0% on his impossible tests  - Eldste Wardle RAPS in Norwegian and it quite possibly is the funniest thing ever - we are besties with the Danish Søsters and I JUST LOVE THEM!! because the languages are so similar we are able to talk to them a...

"Fred Ut" Søster Schneck Week 3

hei, hei!!  This week went by SO fast. Time at the MTC is so bizarre, the days feel FOREVER long, but the weeks go by so fast!  I'm sure you are ALL wondering how our favorite teacher, brother Høgset, is doing.  Let me tell you, he still is mean and scary, but also our best friend; we have a very interesting relationship. Here are some Brother Høgset highlights from the week: - he informed us that he in fact DOES NOT believe that the Moon Landing actually happened - he doesn't have a driver's license, so he rides an electric scooter to work every day wearing his aviators  - he makes us do 50 pushups everyday because we aren't understanding norwegian (i will challenge you all to a pushup contest when I get back) - he ate dinner with us because he was SO excited about the cafeterias chicken and waffles - he LOVES "sons of provo" and was singing with Stoltz  it's in these moments when I laugh and wonder why I let this man cause me so m...
